To everyone who reads this update, thank you so much for all your thoughts, prayers and concern. Each day gets a little easier, but nothing feels right quite yet. We all miss our home terribly and know that if it hadn't been for the love and generosity of friends nearby we wouldn't be in as good a shape as we are in. Mom and my cousin Angie are here with us now and today we get busy trying to find our clothes and other basic necessities that will hopefully help lift our spirits.
We are waiting, not so patiently, for the insurance adjuster to call. We found out yesterday that he has been trying to reach us at our home number-that won't work!
Tonight we leave friends and will stay for the first time in one of the homes that has been offered to us. That will not be where we end up though. We'd like to stay in Bethel where our friends are and where we would be close to soccer, scouts, robotics and other familiar things.
We know people want to help, and some have asked about financial contributions, and we are having our friend, David Allen, help us sort through that. We will have Jody post that info when we get it. We will try to post things as we have some time, but our sister-in-law, Jody Richael, will be the one to keep it updated. Until then, please continue to keep us and all Vermont residents in your prayers. It's quite bad and the pictures don't begin to show the devastation. Soon snow will fly and people are worried about what tomorrow will bring.

Oh Dietre and Paul! We are aching for your family all the way out here in Idaho. I know your community loves you, and the ward, but we do,too, and want to help so desperately. We showed Ethan photos of him playing with Gabe at your home, and with Woody. We still have his stuffed dog named after Woody. We have so many fond memories of your family and time spent at your home. Although you take that welcoming feeling with you everywhere you go. I always admired that about you. We are ready to help. We will send whatever would help the most. Please post the stores you would use gift cards at, sizes of clothes you need for the kids, or anything else that would help all of us know what would help you the most. You always hold a special place in my heart. Your family is one of the big reasons we will always love Vermont, and we treasure the memories made with you. Please know a huge hug and many warm thoughts and prayers are coming from boise, Idaho. ReplyDeleteI don't even know Loren and Tama but I would echo everything they said. You are wonderful! I can't even wrap my brain around how you must be feeling right now; I'm guessing the trials of Job comes to mind! We also have you in our thoughts and prayers daily and wish we could fly out there to help. Once you or your friends get a chance, please post the things you will be in need of.
