The Feeney's are doing pretty well and are still staying in the cabin. They are spending a lot of time working on getting the temporary home ready to move into and hope to be in that home within the next couple of weeks. It is a major job trying to sort through all their belongings which were gathered so quickly. Almost everything needs to be cleaned before it can be used again and that is taking time. Fortunately, they can stay in the cabin as long as they need to. When they are in their temporary home, they expect to be there at least through the winter.
Dealing with all the insurance/FEMA issues takes a significant amount of time as well and they don't expect anything to really be resolved on that for months. There is still a lot more paperwork to be done unfortunately.
In the meantime, using their old address for mail is working well and they want to continue doing that for a while. Dietre also says the account her friends set-up for monetary donations is working well also. If you want more info on that, see the post below.
Thank you for all your support of the Feeneys! Tomorrow is Paul's birthday so Happy Birthday Paul! Obviously this won't be your favorite birthday but there are many more great ones in the future! We are thinking of you!
Happy birthday, Paul. I wish that all the gifts you are receiving could be just for fun, instead of necessity. But I am glad there are so many people aware of your needs as a family. I hope there were some moments of joy today, amidst the trials!
